Pharm+V - ONCO Pharmacovigilance Conference brought to Coimbra (Portugal) more than 150 professionals related to the health sector to discuss safety during activities during the life cycle of medicines used in Oncology. Attendees had the opportunity to attend outstanding talks and to participate in discussions on hot topics.
In the framework of the ONCONET SUDOE European project, whose main objective is to generate an area of cooperation in Oncology among research centres, universities, health institutions and companies, Pharm+V followed the lemma “Using the present to plan the future”.
Pharm+V - ONCO Pharmacovigilance Conference highlighted the processes of pharmacovigilance within SUDOE space, with dissemination of activities carried out throughout the life cycle of medicines used in Oncology, ranging from research and development, to clinical practice, legal aspects, regulatory and ethical, safety monitoring, as well as the clinical, social and economic impact of adverse reactions. The event included an open discussion on how to deal with adverse drug reactions, on the perspective of physicians, policy makers’, pharmaceutical industry, pharmacists and patients.
Moreover, the event was marked by the presentation of the results of a survey conducted by ONCONET SUDOE network on pharmacovigilance practices, which has sought to make known and disseminate the best pharmacovigilance practices in Portugal, Spain and France.
